A primary goal of 10DLC is to provide a better experience for recipients of A2P messages. No one likes to receive spam, or worse. To that end 10DLC introduces more rigorous content guidelines.
We are working with lawyers to provide a comprehensive and easily understood guide for texting program managers. For now, the official guidance defines content violation as:
- Messages in violation of the rules in the Code of Conduct usually SHAFT violations (Sex, Hate, Alcohol, Firearms, Tobacco)
- Spam or phishing
- Messaging that meets the threshold of a Severity 0 violation per the CTIA Short Code Monitoring Handbook
